UPCOMING PRODUCTIONS

play

MAY 10 – 11 | 2PM and 7PM

Pride and Prejudice

Forked River Presbyterian Church

Dress up in your finest and join us on Mother’s Day weekend for a hilarious play about society, principles, and whether “a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” The outspoken Lizzy Bennet is determined to never marry, despite mounting pressure from society. But can she resist love, especially when that vaguely handsome, mildly amusing, and impossibly aggravating Mr. Darcy keeps popping up at every turn?! Literature’s greatest tale of latent love has never felt so theatrical, or so full of life than it does in this effervescent adaptation.

Musical

JUNE 21 – 29 | 2PM and 7PM |

The Trail to Oregon!

The Jersey Shore Arts Center

A musical parody of the popular game The Oregon Trail! The characters’ names are picked from suggestions shouted from the audience…and that’s only the beginning of how you can influence this *totally historically accurate* journey down The Trail to Oregon! Featuring 12 “educational” songs, a set “precisely” replicating the trail’s landscape, and appearances from famous historical figures, such as: Henry McDoon, Cletus Jones, and Cornwallis…In for the ride? Hop on back the covered wagon and get tickets today! Capacity is strictly limited per event – don’t miss out!

Musical

OCT 18 – 26 | 2PM and 7PM

Twisted

The Jersey Shore Arts Center

Hop on your flying carpet, because this musical parody retells the classic tale of Aladdin… from the villain’s point of view! Long ago in a Magic Kingdom, one misunderstood Royal Vizier will go on a quest to save his city from its bumbling sultan, an invading prince, and the most notorious thief to ever live! With the help of the Kingdom’s free-spirited, teenage Princess, the Vizier must find a magical lamp containing a wish-granting Djinn (who’s really funny, by the way) and defeat the city’s most-wanted criminal… Aladdin! This musical adventure celebrates and lovingly pokes fun at everyone’s favorite series of hand-drawn, animated films.

Musical

NOV 15 – 16 | 2PM and 7PM

The Last Five Years

Forked River Presbyterian Church

An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show’s unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

This production stars acclaimed tenor and soprano duo Dakota Reider and Elle River, whose ethereal, emotion-rich voices bring new life to one of the most beautiful scores of our time.

Cabaret

DEC 19 – 22 | 2PM and 7PM

Blue Christmas Cabaret

Waterview Cafe, Barnegat

Not everyone feels “Holly Jolly” during the holidays. This special, intimate cabaret is for those of us looking for an evening away from everything “warm and bright” to feel—without shame— the sadness that sometimes accompanies the season. Whether you’ve lost a loved one, are feeling lonely, had a difficult year, or experiencing any kind of sorrow, this subdued cabaret is full of holiday songs that honor those of us grieving this December.
