ACCESSIBILITY

October Ensemble is committed to accessibility, and believes everyone should be able to enjoy live theatre. See the accessibility tools we currently have available, as well as our plans for the future, below:

ACCESSIBLE SEATING

Wheelchair Seating: Accessible, wheelchair-friendly seating is available at our productions. For shows with general admission, an option will be presented at checkout if you require a wheelchair space. For shows with a seating chart, accessible seats and wheelchair spaces will be marked on the chart. Wheelchair access to The Jersey Shore Arts Center is available.

Plus-Size Friendly Seating: Since October Ensemble currently performs in a variety of rented venues, our plus-size seating accommodations and locations will look different for each venue.

If seeing a performance in The Jersey Shore Arts Center Cafe Theatre – which only contains chair seating – sturdy chairs without armrests are available. Please let us know in advance if you require these seats by contacting info@octoberensemble.com

If seeing a performance in The Jersey Shore Arts Center Palaia Theatre – which offers traditional theatre seating – plus-size friendly chair or bench seating is available in the back of the theatre. For general admission shows, please contact info@octoberensemble.com if you require these seating options. For shows that use a seating chart, accessible seats will be marked on the chart.

RESTROOMS

Accessible restrooms are available on all floors of The Jersey Shore Arts Center, where October Ensemble’s 2025 productions are held.

ELEVATORS

All floors and performance spaces at The Jersey Shore Arts Center are accessible via Elevator.

PARKING

Handicap spaces are available at The Jersey Shore Arts Center and offer close proximity to the wheelchair ramp (front parking lot).

WEB ACCESSIBILITY

October Ensemble’s website and ticketing service both aim to be accessibility friendly, following ADA and W3C guidance. In addition, October Ensemble’s website offers a widget in the bottom right corner of both desktop and mobile that allows users to adjust text size, line height, color, highlight links, remove images, and other helpful modifications.

FUTURE ACCESSIBILITY GOALS

October Ensemble is a new production company currently operating out of shared, rented spaces. Our goal is to obtain our own space and continue to improve the accessibility options we can offer.

We hope to add the following accommodations in the future:

  • Hearing Devices
  • ASL-Interpreted Performances
  • Closed-Captioning and Audio Descriptions
  • Wide, comfortable theatre seating in our own venue
